I am a licensed mental health counselor in practice on the north shore of Long Island.  I have worked as a mental health therapist for nearly 20 years, and I work with a wide range of clients.  For over a decade, I led a consortium of private practitioners in Virginia, maintaining a successful practice working with parents, schools, court systems, and state mental health organizations to provide counseling for a clients with diverse needs. I have also worked extensively with the criminal justice system and provided expert witness court testimony in sexual abuse cases. I am trained working with anxiety and mood disorders and have special expertise in adjustment related issues in young people. I work with adults and couples as well. Because I believe that working with the entire family system provides the most meaningful opportunities for change, much of my work with children and teens also entails family therapy and parent consultations as part of individual psychotherapy.  I have extensive training in family systems, cognitive behavioral, and play therapy, as well as expertise working with clients with depression, anxiety, trauma histories, ADD/ADHD, grief, and abuse.

I'm a native of Dallas, and I have worked in Texas, Minnesota, Virginia, and New York.  In 2013, I moved to Long Island with my family when my husband relocated for work.  Our family has been taking advantage of the many opportunities in the area, and I continue to seek training in the most up-to-date, research-based therapeutic tools for families and individuals.
